We offer several treatment options for gum disease, depending on its severity.
For mild cases, a traditional hygiene visit, or prophylaxis, involves cleaning the surface of the teeth above the gum line to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
For advanced cases involving periodontal disease, which causes pocketing and bone loss, we provide gum therapy (scaling and root planing). This deep cleaning process removes bacteria and debris from below the gum line to promote healing.
Additionally, we can use laser therapy to disinfect periodontal pockets and support tissue healing. In some cases, local antibiotics may be placed directly into the periodontal pockets to help eliminate infection.
By combining these treatments, we can effectively manage periodontal disease and improve overall oral health.
