Why Does Medicare Dental Coverage Vary by Plan?
In this video, Dr. Chance McLemore explains why Medicare Advantage dental benefits differ between plans and how coverage can change each year.
Patients with Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans can have different coverage because of the many variations among the plans. As you know, every October, you find out about all the different plans that they have. The benefits can change every year, the deductibles can change every year, and the amount of benefits can change every year.
So, even though you may have the same title of the policy or the same company providing the policy, you may have different coverage. There is a difference between traditional Medicare Parts A, B, and D and Medicare Advantage plans. Most Medicare plans, in and of themselves, do not provide any dental benefits. Medicare Advantage plans, the add-on plans, are the ones that can offer dental benefits.
