How Can a Snap-In Denture Patient With Arthritis Remove Their Denture?
In this video, Dr. Thomas Hanson demonstrates how patients with arthritis or limited hand strength can safely remove their snap-in dentures.
If you’re interested in the snap-on denture or a Fix on Six and you’re concerned that you may not be able to get it out because you have extreme arthritis, poor dexterity, or limited upper body strength, we can give you one of our plastic instruments. It’s a little hook, and you can actually put it in your mouth, up to the denture, and pull down, and it snaps it right out.
We also recommend that, once you get it out and you’re cleaning it, you do it over a sink that’s maybe filled halfway with water. That way, if you drop it, it hits the water before it hits the porcelain.
