What Is a Dental Crown?
In this video, Dr. Thomas Hanson discusses dental crowns, explaining when they’re necessary and outlining the steps involved in the traditional crown placement process. Schedule an appointment at Riviera Dental Care to protect your teeth and restore their strength and appearance.
A dental crown is a restoration that fully covers and protects a damaged tooth. We may recommend a crown if a tooth is broken, has cracks or fracture lines, or has a cavity too large for a filling due to insufficient remaining tooth structure.
The process for a traditional crown involves preparing the tooth and taking an impression. Once the custom crown is fabricated by the lab, we fit and adjust it to ensure proper function and appearance. After your approval, the crown is permanently cemented in place, protecting the tooth from further damage and restoring its strength.
