Can I Mix Different Types of Dentures?
In this video, Dr. Thomas Hanson discusses how combining traditional dentures with implant-supported options can improve comfort and stability while addressing your specific dental needs.
So when patients ask us, “Can they have a conventional denture on one arch and maybe a Fix on Six or a snap-on hybrid denture on the opposing arch?” typically, the upper arch gets better suction with the conventional denture.
So if they’re doing well with their conventional denture on top, we say, “Yeah, let’s just stay with that.” And typically, the bottom one has all the problems with retention, so we recommend a hybrid implant denture, snap-on, or a Fix on Six on the bottom.
That’s usually the combination that we find works the best.
